The "doldrums" is a nautical term that refers to the belt around the Earth near the equator where sailing ships sometimes get stuck on windless waters. Very intense heat is created at the equator from the sun’s direct focus. This heated air rises upwards like a hot air balloon, rather than blowing horizontally. The result: little or no wind.
Let’s be honest. Yep, even believers go through doldrumic periods of life.
That means it’s time to sit before the Lord and let Him . . . "
